Netflix has become a treasure trove for fans of science fiction and fantasy genres. With its ever-expanding library, it can be daunting to sift through its catalogue to find the best films to watch. But fear not, we’ve done the legwork for you! Here’s a list of the 25 best science fiction and fantasy movies currently available on Netflix that you should definitely add to your watchlist.

.Inception – Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending heist movie that dives into the depths of dreams.

.The Matrix – The Wachowski siblings’ groundbreaking science fiction film about a dystopian future dominated by virtual reality.

.Stranger Things – Although it’s a series, this show’s first season functions like an extended movie, full of ’80s nostalgia and paranormal intrigue.

.The Midnight Sky – George Clooney directs and stars in this post-apocalyptic tale of global catastrophe.

.Interstellar – Another Nolan masterpiece, exploring space travel through wormholes and the love that transcends dimensions.

.Bird Box – A mysterious force decimates the world’s population; if you see it, you take your life.

.Bright – This urban fantasy crime film pairs Will Smith up with an orc cop in an alternate Los Angeles.

8. Bong Joon Ho’s touching tale about a girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful company from kidnapping her friend, a massive animal.

.The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf – The animated prequel to “The Witcher” delves deep into the lore behind the series’ monster hunters.

.Stardust – A young man makes a promise to his beloved that leads him on an adventure in a magical world.

.Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – A nonlinear storyline follows a couple who have erased each other from their memories.

.Blade Runner 2049 – Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to Ridley Scott’s masterpiece about bioengineered humans seeking their creator.

.Snowpiercer – In a future where a failed climate-change experiment kills all life except for those on the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe.

.Annihilation – Natalie Portman stars in this film about an expedition into a mysterious disaster zone called “The Shimmer”.

.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – Marvel’s team of intergalactic misfits continues their adventures across space.

.Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – An animated masterpiece that spins multiple Spider-Man stories into one multiverse-spanning epic.

.The Old Guard – A group of mercenaries with an immortal secret fight to keep their team together.

.Dark Skies – As the Barret family’s peaceful suburban life unravels, they discover an alarming series of events transpiring in their home could be extraterrestrial in nature.

.The Platform – A vertically-stacked prison with one inmate per level; an endless nightmare trapped in the hole.

Please note that this list is subject to change as Netflix regularly updates its content library and some titles may not be available anymore or might have been replaced by new additions to the cinematic roster on Netflix. Always check currently available titles directly on Netflix for the most up-to-date information.
