Zombies have been a staple of horror cinema for decades, and their popularity shows no signs of waning. From the slow-moving undead of George A. Romero’s classics to the fast-paced hordes of modern interpretations, zombie movies have something to offer every horror fan. If you’re looking for a fix of the flesh-eating creatures from the comfort of your own home, Shudder has got you covered with an impressive selection of zombie films. Here are the 10 best zombie movies available to stream on Shudder right now:

1. Train to Busan (2016) – This South Korean hit offers an intense, emotional ride aboard a high-speed train amidst a sudden and vicious zombie outbreak.

2. Night of the Living Dead (1968) – Known as the zombie movie that started it all, George A. Romero’s black-and-white masterpiece remains a genre-defining classic.

3. Dawn of the Dead (1978) – Another Romero gem, this film takes the apocalypse to a shopping mall, where a group of survivors must fend off hordes of undead consumers.

4. Re-Animator (1985) – Injecting dark humor into its gruesome narrative, this cult favorite is based on H.P. Lovecraft’s serial novelette and follows a medical student who develops a serum that can reanimate dead tissue.

5. The Battery (2012) – Offering an indie twist on the genre, this character-driven story focuses on the relationship between two former baseball players navigating the perils of a zombie-infested New England.

6. Zombi Child (2019) – Blending history with horror, this French film delves into the roots of zombi folklore brought to Haiti by slaves from West Africa and ties it to the story of a Haitian teenager at a Parisian boarding school.

7. Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014) – An Australian action-packed movie that marries zombies with Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic mayhem.

8. The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988) – Directed by Wes Craven, this film is inspired by true events and plunges into voodoo mythology and zombification in Haiti.

9. One Cut of the Dead (2017) – This low-budget Japanese comedy starts as a tired zombie outbreak flick but then morphs into an incredibly clever and amusing behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking.

10. Demons (1985) – Though not strictly zombies in the traditional sense, these demonic creatures share enough traits with our undead friends to warrant inclusion on this list for their similarly insatiable hunger for human flesh.

With such variety in storytelling and production value across different cultures and time periods, Shudder’s collection is sure to satisfy your craving for shuffling corpses and survival horror. Dim down those lights, grab your favorite snacks (preferably not brains), and dive into these chilling zombie adventures!
