Apple’s iPhone exports from India have surged to a remarkable $6 billion in the six months ending September 2024, representing a staggering 33% year-on-year increase. This impressive growth trajectory puts the tech giant on track to surpass $10 billion in iPhone exports by the end of fiscal 2024, according to Bloomberg, citing data from industry sources.

This significant jump highlights Apple’s unwavering commitment to bolstering its manufacturing presence in India. The company’s strategic decision to ramp up local production has yielded remarkable results, propelling India’s export basket and cementing its position as a key manufacturing hub for the tech giant.

This success can be attributed to several factors. The Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative has provided a conducive environment for companies like Apple to invest and expand their manufacturing operations. Apple has also benefitted from favorable incentives, including tax breaks and subsidies, that have further propelled its production in India.

The growing demand for iPhones in India and across emerging markets, coupled with Apple’s focus on localized production, has fueled this exponential growth. The company has strategically shifted its manufacturing base to India, leveraging its robust supply chain and skilled workforce.

This surge in iPhone exports from India signifies a significant shift in the global tech landscape. It underscores the potential of emerging economies like India to become prominent players in the manufacturing and export of high-value products. As Apple continues its ambitious manufacturing expansion in India, the country is poised to play an even more pivotal role in the global tech ecosystem.
