Sony’s Official (PlayStation 3) PS3 Launch Titles List

Sony’s PlayStation 3 or PS3 was one of the most anticipated gaming consoles during its time. The console’s launch brought along with it many exciting games that gamers were eager to play. Sony had several stunning games ready for launch. Let’s take a look at the official PlayStation 3 launch titles list.

1. Resistance: Fall of Man

Developed by Insomniac Games, this first-person shooter game was exclusive to the PlayStation 3. It offered an excellent storyline with an immersive multiplayer mode. The game’s graphics were impressive for their time, and it showcased the impressive capabilities of the PS3.

2. MotorStorm

Created by Evolution Studios, this racing game was packed with thrilling off-road races. The game allowed players to select from a wide array of vehicles, ranging from dirt bikes to big rigs. The game received favorable critical reception for its physics engine that delivered realistic vehicle behavior on different surfaces.

3. Madden NFL 07

A popular sports game, Madden NFL 07, was one of the few sports games featured at the launch. The game takes full advantage of the PS3’s graphical prowess, and players could check out modes like Spectator Cam and Mini-camp, which weren’t available on other platforms.

4. Call of Duty 3

Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 was one of the biggest titles at the PS3 launch. The game took advantage of the PS3’s powerful processing capabilities to deliver advanced levels of gameplay graphics. In addition, the game had a superb multiplayer mode that challenged players’ skills.

5. Genji: Days of the Blade

Set in feudal Japan, Genji: Days of the Blade was a role-playing game that allowed players to take control of a samurai warrior in his quest for revenge. The game attracted a lot of attention for its brilliant graphics and detailed character models.

6. NBA 2K7

Another sports title, NBA 2K7, was a basketball simulation game that was built for the PS3. The game received high praise from critics for its life-like basketball gameplay mechanics and infinite replay value. With its HD graphic display, the PS3 delivered exceptional graphics, making it impossible to tell if it is an actual game or a real-life NBA match.

7. Ridge Racer 7

Ridge Racer 7 took advantage of the PS3’s advanced processing power to create an arcade racer that allowed players to engage in high-speed racing action. The high-quality visuals, smooth gameplay, and fast-paced races turned this game into a fan-favorite among arcade racing fans.

The five-star roster of these seven launch titles left a long-lasting impression on audiences worldwide. The PS3 had a solid start with its launch, promising to bring more exclusive titles that players would thoroughly enjoy. Sony’s commitment to drawing out the best from their gaming consoles was seen through the PS3 and the many other consoles that followed it.
