Signs of Phone Tracking You Should Look Out For

In today’s digital age, it’s possible for your phone to be tracked without your knowledge or consent. While there can be legitimate reasons to track someone’s phone, such as parental supervision or employee monitoring, unauthorized phone tracking can be a violation of privacy. Here are some signs of phone tracking you should look out for:

1. Unusual Battery Drain: If you notice that your phone battery is draining faster than usual, it could be a sign that your phone is constantly transmitting data to a third-party location. This could indicate that your phone is being tracked.

2. Phone Overheating: A phone that is constantly transmitting data may cause it to overheat. If you find that your phone gets hot even when you’re not using it, it could be a sign that your phone is being tracked.

3. Increased Data Usage: If you notice an unexplained increase in your phone’s data usage, it could be a sign that your phone is transmitting data without your knowledge. This could be due to the app installed on your phone or due to a third-party tracker.

4. Strange Noises During Calls: If you hear strange clicking or beeping noises during phone calls, it could be a sign that your phone is being monitored. This could indicate that someone is recording your calls or transmitting data in real-time.

5. Delayed Shut Down: If your phone takes longer than usual to shut down, it could be a sign that there are apps running in the background that are not visible to you. This could indicate that your phone is being tracked.

6. Unusual Text Messages: If you receive text messages that contain random letters and numbers or gibberish, it could be a sign that your phone is being tracked. These messages are often used to transmit commands to a tracking app installed on your phone.

7. Difficulty Shutting Down: If your phone becomes unresponsive when you try to shut it down, it could be a sign that there are hidden apps running in the background. This could indicate that your phone is being tracked.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
