San Angelo, traditionally known for its agriculture and oil industries, is making headlines today as it emerges as an unexpected leader in renewable energy. The completion of the Concho Valley Solar and Wind Farm, the largest hybrid renewable energy project in Texas, marks a turning point for the region’s economy and energy landscape.

The $2 billion project, spanning over 50,000 acres, combines vast solar arrays with next-generation wind turbines. It’s capable of generating enough clean energy to power over 300,000 homes, effectively making San Angelo a net energy exporter.
