Ryan Smith hits ‘Pat McAfee Show’ to tout Utah as best place for an NHL team

Ryan Smith, the dynamic tech entrepreneur and owner of the Utah Jazz, recently appeared on the popular sports talk show “The Pat McAfee Show” to make a compelling case for Utah as the next home for a National Hockey League (NHL) team. The passionate billionaire used the platform to highlight Utah’s unique selling points and why the NHL would thrive in the Beehive State.

Smith, known for his innovative approach in both businesses and sports, pointed out the booming success of professional teams in Utah, citing the robust fan base and cultural support for sporting events. He emphasized Utah’s rapidly growing economy, its young and active demographic, and a legacy of winter sports enthusiasm stemming from hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics as key factors that make it an ideal location for an NHL expansion or relocation.

Addressing concerns about market size and competition with other sports franchises, Smith presented data showing rising attendance at minor league hockey games in Utah. He also mentioned the state’s infrastructure readiness, with existing venues capable of hosting NHL games without significant investment.

Furthermore, Smith underlined Utah’s reputation for hosting large-scale events and its position as a travel hub with convenient connections to other major cities across North America – advantages that would potentially contribute to a strong away-game traveling contingent.

Concluding his segment, Ryan Smith extended an open invitation to NHL executives to visit Salt Lake City, experience firsthand the energy of Utah’s fans, and engage in discussions about future possibilities. With Smith’s enthusiasm and business acumen backing such an initiative, it may be only a matter of time before the NHL seriously considers dropping the puck in Utah.

Following his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, social media buzzed with reactions from hockey fans and sports commentators alike. The idea of an NHL team in Utah generated excitement and speculation about potential team names, mascots, and rivalries that could emerge.

It’s clear that if Ryan Smith has his way, ice skates will soon be gliding across NHL rinks amid the stunning mountainous backdrop of Utah – bringing a new layer of excitement to one of America’s most picturesque states.
