Introduction: Don’t you just hate it when your once-soft and fluffy towels turn rough and scratchy over time? Even if they’re still functional, it’s not that enjoyable to use those coarse, old towels after a satisfying shower. Fret not! There’s a simple yet effective washing technique that can make your old towels feel like new again. Say goodbye to those harsh fabrics and rediscover the joy of wrapping yourself up in a plush towel!

The One Washing Trick You Need: You might be surprised to learn that it’s not just the washing machine’s fault or poor towel quality that leads to this deterioration – rather, it often stems from the use of too much detergent and fabric softeners. These two ingredients can accumulate on fibers, causing a buildup of residue and reducing absorbency. To.make your towels feel like new again, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Pre-soak the towels

Fill a bucket or your sink with warm water, then add 1 cup of white vinegar (a natural cleaning solution). Soak your old towels in this solution for 30-60 minutes to break down any residues.

Step 2: Run a normal wash cycle

Transfer the pre-soaked towels into the washing machine, but don’t add any detergent or fabric softener. Set your machine to the regular cycle with warm water. The vinegar from the pre-soak will help further dissolve residues during this step.

Step 3: Rinse again with baking soda

After the wash cycle is complete, keep the towels in the washing machine and distribute ½ cup of baking soda on top of them. Then, run another regular wash cycle using warm water. Baking soda works as an excellent gentle abrasive cleaner, which helps in removing remaining residue and revives the fabric’s softness.

Step 4: Dry properly

Once the second wash cycle is finished, dry your towels according to their care instructions – either with a dryer or line dry. To maintain fluffiness, you can toss in a couple of clean tennis balls in the dryer along with your towels.

Conclusion: With this simple and cost-effective washing trick, your old towels will feel soft and revitalized. Furthermore, it can help you save money by prolonging the life of your towels and keeping them in peak condition for longer periods of time. From now on, indulge in the luxury of using fluffy and cozy towels every day!
