The Ram 1500 REV represents Stellantis’ entry into the electric pickup truck market, building upon the success and popularity of the conventional Ram 1500. Announced for the 2025 model year, the Ram 1500 REV aims to combine the brand’s reputation for capability and comfort with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

Design and Exterior

The Ram 1500 REV maintains a familiar silhouette, closely resembling its internal combustion engine counterpart. However, it incorporates several distinctive design elements that signify its electric powertrain:

  • A reimagined front fascia with an illuminated RAM badge
  • Aerodynamic wheel designs
  • Flush door handles
  • LED lighting throughout, including a full-width LED light bar at the rear

The design philosophy appears to balance the need for improved aerodynamics with the rugged, capable appearance that Ram truck buyers expect.

Performance and Powertrain

The Ram 1500 REV is built on Stellantis’ STLA Frame platform, specifically designed for full-size electric trucks and SUVs. Key performance specifications include:

  • Dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration
  • Up to 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph acceleration in approximately 4.4 seconds
  • Two battery options:
    • Standard 168 kWh battery with an estimated range of 350 miles
    • Large 229 kWh battery with an estimated range of up to 500 miles
  • 800-volt electrical architecture allowing for fast charging up to 350 kW

Interior and Technology

The interior of the Ram 1500 REV is expected to offer a blend of practicality and advanced technology:

  • Large central touchscreen infotainment system
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Head-up display
  • Premium materials and finishes, especially in higher trims
  • Spacious cabin layout, taking advantage of the electric platform’s packaging benefits

Ram has also announced that the REV will feature advanced driver assistance systems, including hands-free driving capabilities on certain roads.

Utility and Functionality

As a full-size pickup, the Ram 1500 REV is designed to meet the demanding needs of truck users:

  • Towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds
  • Payload capacity of 2,700 pounds
  • Frunk (front trunk) storage area
  • Bi-directional charging capability, allowing the truck to power tools, appliances, or even a home

Market Position and Availability

Ram is positioning the 1500 REV as a versatile electric truck capable of meeting both work and lifestyle needs. The truck is expected to be available in various trims, from work-oriented base models to luxury-focused variants. While official pricing hasn’t been announced, industry speculation suggests a starting price around $55,000 to $60,000, with fully-loaded models potentially exceeding $100,000.
