Quiz to Decide If You Are In Love With Your Best Friend

Discovering romantic feelings for a best friend is a delicate, often confusing situation. You share jokes, stories, and comfort each other in tough times, but could it be that your relationship has grown into something more? If you’re questioning whether your feelings have crossed the line from platonic to romantic, this quiz can help guide you.

Remember that a quiz can’t definitively determine your emotions, but it might help you explore them further. Be as honest with yourself as possible when answering these questions. So, are you in love with your best friend? Let’s find out!

Question 1: When you think about your best friend, how do you feel?

A. Happy and comfortable – they’re my confidant.

B. Excited and a little nervous – I get butterflies.

C. Indifferent – just like I would think of any other friend.

Question 2: Do you get jealous when your best friend talks about someone they’re interested in?

A. Not really – I’m just happy if they’re happy.

B. Yes, it’s an unpleasant feeling that I can’t shake off.

C. Sometimes, but it’s more about me feeling left out.

Question 3: How do you prioritize time with your best friend?

A. They’re important, but so are my other friends and activities.

B. I want to spend all my free time with them and often rearrange plans for them.

C. As much as for any good friend – no more, no less.

Question 4: Do you imagine what it would be like to date your best friend?

A. No, that’s never occurred to me.

B. Often, and the idea seems perfect.

C. Sometimes, but it feels more like a thought experiment.

Question 5: Have you ever felt disappointed or hurt when your best friend didn’t return a call or text right away?

A. No more than usual – everyone gets busy sometimes.

B. Yes, I tend to take it personally and worry about our connection.

C. Only if I needed them urgently for something important.

Now tally up your answers! If you chose mostly B’s there’s a strong chance that your feelings have turned romantic. Choosing A’s suggests that your relationship is likely deeply platonic; C’s could indicate that while you value the friendship highly, the nature of those feelings is still ambiguous.

If taking this quiz has revealed or even deepened your curiosity about the potential of love between you and your best friend, consider talking frankly with someone you trust or perhaps even directly with your friend when the time feels right.

Navigating this transformation in emotions requires sensitivity both to yourself and to the beautiful friendship already in place—no matter what kind of love binds it together.
