Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra (2025): Android Tablet Redefined?

Introduction

Samsung has long been at the forefront of Android tablet innovation, and with the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, released in February 2025, they’ve taken things to a whole new level. This premium device aims to not just compete with other tablets, but to offer a genuine alternative to traditional laptops. In this review, we’ll explore how Samsung has pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in an Android tablet and whether it lives up to its lofty ambitions.

The Review

The first thing that strikes you about the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is its sheer size. Sporting a massive 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, this tablet demands attention. The screen is nothing short of breathtaking, with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3K resolution, and HDR10+ support. Colors pop, blacks are deep, and the brightness levels are impressive, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Powering this behemoth is Samsung’s latest Exynos 2500 chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. In our benchmarks, the Tab S10 Ultra not only outperformed every other Android tablet on the market but also gave many high-end laptops a run for their money. Real-world performance is equally impressive, with the device handling everything from intense gaming sessions to 8K video editing without breaking a sweat.

Samsung has made significant strides in the software department. The Tab S10 Ultra runs on OneUI 7.0, based on Android 16. The interface is sleek and intuitive, with new productivity features that take full advantage of the large display. The improved DeX mode feels more like a desktop operating system than ever before, complete with windowed apps and a taskbar.

The S Pen, included with the tablet, has also seen improvements. With reduced latency and enhanced pressure sensitivity, it now feels even more like writing or drawing on paper. The new “Air Gestures” feature allows you to control certain aspects of the tablet with hand movements, which, while sometimes gimmicky, can be useful in specific scenarios.

Camera performance has taken a leap forward with a triple-lens setup on the rear (50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP telephoto) and a 16MP front-facing camera. While tablet photography isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, the quality here is impressive enough to make it a viable option when your phone isn’t at hand.

Battery life is a concern with such a large and powerful device, but Samsung has managed to squeeze in a 12,000 mAh battery. In our tests, the Tab S10 Ultra lasted around 8-9 hours with mixed-use, which is respectable given its specifications. The included 45W fast charger can juice up the device from 0 to 100% in about 90 minutes.

Connectivity options are plentiful, with Wi-Fi 7, 5G support, and a USB 4.0 port. The quad-speaker system tuned by AKG delivers rich, room-filling audio that enhances both productivity and entertainment experiences.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is a testament to what’s possible in the realm of Android tablets. It’s a device that doesn’t just match the competition but in many ways surpasses it. With its stunning display, powerhouse performance, and improved software experience, it presents a compelling case for itself as not just a tablet, but as a potential laptop replacement.

However, all this comes at a cost. With a starting price of $1,199, the Tab S10 Ultra is squarely in premium laptop territory. For those deeply invested in the Android ecosystem or those looking for a versatile device that can handle both tablet and laptop duties, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is an impressive, if pricey, option. It’s not just a great Android tablet; it’s a great computing device, period.
