Intro:

Pokemon Go remains a popular gaming app that constantly adds new features and challenges to keep players engaged. One such challenge is the Mewtwo Raid, in which players team up to battle and capture the powerful psychic Pokémon, Mewtwo. This article will provide you with crucial information on the best counters, weaknesses, and movesets for Mewtwo raids.

Mewtwo’s Weaknesses:

Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Pokémon, which makes it weak against Bug-, Ghost-, and Dark-type moves. Consequently, when selecting your battling team, focus on Pokémon with these specific types of attacks to increase your chances of defeating Mewtwo.

Best Counters:

The following Pokémon are some of the best contenders when taking on a Mewtwo raid:

1. Giratina-Origin: Boasting an impressive resistance to Psychic-type attacks, Giratina-Origin’s strong Ghost-type moves such as Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball make it one of the top choices for countering Mewtwo.

2. Darkrai: As a Dark-type Pokémon with high attack stats, Darkrai is another effective counter against Mewtwo. Utilize its potent moves like Snarl and Shadow Ball or Foul Play to deal considerable damage to Mewtwo.

3. Gengar: This Ghost- and Poison-type Pokémon possesses powerful special attacks. Equip Gengar with moves like Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball or Sludge Bomb to exploit Mewtwo’s weaknesses.

4. Tyranitar: This Rock- and Dark-type Pokémon has impressive durability and damage-dealing capabilities. It’s recommended to use Bite as a fast move along with Crunch as a charged move when facing off against Mewtwo.

5. Chandelure: As a Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon, Chandelure makes for an effective counter due to its high attack power. Use the Hex and Shadow Ball moveset to capitalize on Mewtwo’s weaknesses.

Mewtwo’s Moveset:

Understanding Mewtwo’s potential movesets can help you strategize during the raid. Its moveset includes:

Fast Moves:

– Confusion (Psychic)

– Psycho Cut (Psychic)

Charged Moves:

– Ice Beam (Ice)

– Thunderbolt (Electric)

– Flamethrower (Fire)

– Psychic (Psychic)

– Focus Blast (Fighting)

Conclusion:

Participating in a Mewtwo raid can be a challenging but rewarding experience. To increase your chances of victory, select counters that capitalize on Mewtwo’s weaknesses and utilize powerful movesets. With proper strategy in place, you’ll be one step closer to adding the elusive Mewtwo to your Pokémon collection.
