Plans for New Hums Elementary School Move Forward

Mishawaka leaders are moving forward with plans to build a new Hums Elementary School, with the goal of opening by fall 2027. The current building, nearly 50 years old, faces safety and flooding issues. The new school will be funded without raising taxes, and the project is expected to cost around $38 million. The new design aims to provide a safer and more effective learning environment for students.
