Introduction:

The Peloton Tread and Peloton Tread Plus are two of the most popular connected fitness treadmills on the market today. But which one should you choose? In this article, we’ll compare the features, specs, and prices of both products to help you make an informed decision.

Features:

The most notable feature of both the Peloton Tread and Tread Plus are the live and on-demand fitness classes accessible through their respective HD touchscreens. These treadmills provide a fully-immersive fitness experience led by professional instructors.

The Peloton Tread boasts a 23.8-inch HD touchscreen, while the Tread Plus comes with a larger 32-inch screen. Both screens allow users to track their metrics and follow various workout programs.

Specifications:

1. Size: The Tread has a smaller footprint than its counterpart – measuring at 68″ L x 33″ W x 62″ H. The Tread Plus has dimensions of 72.5″ L x 36.5″ W x 72″ H.

2. Speed Range: The speed range for both models is similar, with the Tread offering speeds from 0 to 12.5 mph and the Tread Plus going up to a maximum speed of 12.6 mph.

3. Incline: While both treadmills offer incline options, the Tread Plus boasts a wider range from -3% decline to a 15% incline, allowing for more varied workouts. The Tread offers an incline range between 0% and 12.5%.

4. Slats vs Belt: One significant difference in design is that the Tread uses a traditional running belt for its deck, whereas the Tread Plus features individual rubber slats – providing less impact on joints and a quieter workout experience.

5. Weight Capacity: The Tread Plus has a higher weight capacity, accommodating users up to 455 lbs. The Tread has a maximum weight capacity of 290 lbs.

Price:

The Peloton Tread comes with a lower price point, retailing at approximately $2,495. The Tread Plus is priced significantly higher at around $4,295. Keep in mind that both treadmills also require a monthly Peloton membership subscription, which currently costs $39 per month.

Conclusion:

When comparing the Peloton Tread and Tread Plus, it’s crucial to consider your budget, space requirements, and performance preferences. If you’re looking for a more compact treadmill with a lower price point, the Peloton Tread may be your best bet. However, if you want an upgraded, more immersive experience with advanced features such as rubber slats for reduced joint impact and a larger incline range, the Peloton Tread Plus may be worth the investment.
