Netflix has become a powerhouse in the entertainment industry, offering a vast library of movies and TV shows that cater to diverse tastes. While the streaming giant is known for keeping viewership data under wraps, it occasionally releases rankings highlighting its biggest hits. In this article, we will explore some of Netflix’s most popular movies and shows as ranked by the platform itself.

1.”Bird Box” –

This post-apocalyptic thriller starring Sandra Bullock takes the top spot on Netflix’s ranking. The film captivated audiences with its intense storyline and became a social media sensation upon release.

2.”Extraction” –

Starring Chris Hemsworth, this action-packed movie follows a black-market mercenary who embarks on an impossible mission in Bangladesh. Its breathtaking stunts and gripping narrative cemented its position as one of Netflix’s most-watched original films.

4.”Money Heist” (La Casa de Papel) –

This Spanish heist crime drama series gained immense popularity worldwide after being acquired by Netflix. With its intricate plot twists and compelling characters, it quickly amassed a dedicated fan base.

5. “Stranger Things” –

Set in the 1980s, this sci-fi horror series struck a chord with audiences from its very first season. With nostalgic references combined with supernatural elements, “Stranger Things” became an instant phenomenon and continues to be one of Netflix’s most beloved originals.

6.”Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” –

This true-crime documentary series took the world by storm during the early days of lockdowns in 2020. It followed exotic animal enthusiast Joe Exotic and his rivalry with big cat conservationist Carole Baskin, captivating viewers’ attention with its bizarre storylines and larger-than-life personalities.

While these are just a few examples, Netflix’s library is filled with numerous other hits. From captivating dramas like “The Crown” and “Ozark” to thought-provoking documentaries such as “Making a Murderer” and “The Social Dilemma,” the platform offers content to cater to various interests.

It’s important to note that Netflix’s rankings are based on internal data, which may not always align with external metrics or critical acclaim. The platform considers factors such as viewership numbers, engagement, and overall popularity within its user base when compiling these rankings.

Ultimately, what constitutes a hit can vary greatly depending on individual preferences. Some might gravitate towards thrilling action films or true-crime series, while others prefer heartwarming comedies or epic fantasy sagas. Netflix strives to provide something for everyone in its quest to become the go-to streaming service for entertainment enthusiasts worldwide.

As new movies and shows continue to be released on the platform, it will be interesting to see how future rankings evolve and which titles emerge as the next big hits. Regardless of official rankings, Netflix remains committed to delivering diverse content that captivates audiences around the globe. So grab your popcorn and settle in for some binge-worthy viewing!
