One of the most annoying things that can happen is when your mouse stops working on your Mac. This could be due to various reasons such as a dead battery, faulty hardware, or software issues. Regardless of the cause, there are a few tips that you can use to get your mouse working again.

Here are some tips to try:

1. Check Your Connection: If your mouse is not working, make sure it is properly connected to your Mac. Check the USB port or receiver to ensure that it is connected properly. If you are using a Bluetooth mouse, make sure your Mac is connected to it.

2. Change the Battery: For wireless mice, check the battery level. If it is low or dead, replace the battery and see if it fixes the problem.

3. Restart Your Mac: Often it’s just a simple glitch or a software issue, and restarting your Mac can solve the issue.

4. Reset SMC and PRAM: If restarting doesn’t work, try resetting your Mac’s System Management Controller (SMC) and Parameter RAM (PRAM). This will usually clear out any hardware or software glitches that are causing the issue. You can find the steps to reset both from Apple’s website.

5. Check for Updates: It’s important to keep your system up-to-date, so check for any updates available for your Mac, mouse or any applications you are using. Updating these will often solve the issue.

6. Try a Different Mouse: If you have another mouse you can try on your Mac, see if it works. If it does, then it’s likely that the issue is with your mouse and not your Mac.

7. Check Your Mouse Settings: Go to System Preferences on your Mac and select Mouse. Check if your mouse settings are correct, and if not, make the necessary changes.

8. Try Repairing Your Mouse: If none of the above tips work, try repairing your mouse. Depending on the type of mouse, there may be a repair tool available that you can use to fix any software issues.
