Spread the love

As humans, we are social beings by nature, and the need to make new friends is always there. Making new friends is not only a great way to have fun but also an opportunity to grow your network, learn new things, and create lifelong memories. With the ever-growing number of digital platforms, finding exciting people and engaging with them has never been easier. Here are some of the platforms to check out when looking to make new friends.

  1. Meetup

Meetup is a popular platform for finding like-minded people interested in similar activities or hobbies. Whether you enjoy hiking, dancing, painting or anything else, Meetup has got you covered. The platform connects users to local events, groups, and communities, making it easy to join discussions on topics that interest you and meet new people.

  1. Bumble BFF

Bumble, a popular dating app, has now ventured into the friend-making sector with Bumble BFF. This feature uses the same swiping model as the main app, but instead of looking for romantic partners, users are looking for friends. Just like on the dating app, users can set up their profiles, specify their interests, and swipe right on people they are interested in meeting.

  1. Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a hospitality exchange and social networking platform that connects travelers with locals in the places they are visiting. While the primary focus is on sharing accommodation, Couchsurfing has a strong community with many members looking to make new friends. The platform’s message boards and local events are great places to connect with people from all over the world.

  1. Nextdoor

Nextdoor is a neighborhood social media platform that connects neighbors and businesses. The platform allows you to get to know people in your local area and engage with them on various topics, such as events, local news, and recommendations. Nextdoor is a great way to make friends in your community and participate in local events.

  1. Facebook Groups

Facebook is the world’s largest social media platform, with millions of active users worldwide. It is also an excellent place to find new friends, primarily through Facebook groups. There are groups for almost any topic you can think of; from art to gaming, from gardening to cooking. Joining a Facebook group can provide opportunities to discuss and share ideas and build friendships with like-minded individuals.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
