LinkedIn’s Services Marketplace, launched in 2021 to connect businesses with freelance talent, is seeing explosive growth. According to TechCrunch, the platform now boasts over 10 million freelancers, representing a staggering 48% increase in the past year.

This rapid growth underscores the rising demand for freelance work and LinkedIn’s successful positioning as a central hub for professionals. The platform leverages its existing user base and robust network, offering a valuable resource for both businesses seeking skilled talent and freelancers looking for new opportunities.

The Services Marketplace allows freelancers to showcase their expertise, build profiles, and connect directly with potential clients. Businesses can browse profiles, request proposals, and manage projects all within the familiar LinkedIn ecosystem. This integrated approach streamlines the hiring process, offering both parties a convenient and trusted environment.

This significant growth also highlights the evolving nature of work. As the lines between traditional employment and freelance work blur, platforms like LinkedIn’s Services Marketplace are becoming essential for facilitating this shift. The platform empowers individuals to take control of their careers and tap into a global network of clients and opportunities.

Moving forward, LinkedIn’s Services Marketplace is expected to continue its growth trajectory. With its strong user base, established reputation, and commitment to connecting businesses with skilled professionals, the platform is well-positioned to become a dominant force in the future of freelance work.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
