Amazon’s e-reader empire may be about to expand, with whispers of a new entry-level Kindle model potentially hitting the market as soon as this week. While official details are still under wraps, leaks suggest a streamlined device aimed at budget-conscious readers.

The new Kindle, codenamed “Basic”, is rumored to feature a smaller, 6-inch e-ink display, a step down from the current entry-level Kindle’s 6.8-inch screen. This shift could translate to a more compact and affordable device, making it a compelling choice for those looking to dip their toes into the world of e-reading.

Rumors also hint at a simplified design and fewer features, with the focus being on the core reading experience. This could mean a reduced feature set compared to its predecessors, potentially lacking features like a warm light or adjustable font sizes.

The leak doesn’t reveal any pricing details, but if the new Kindle aims to remain a budget-friendly option, it could be priced competitively against its predecessor. This move would make the Kindle more accessible to an even wider audience, attracting newcomers and budget-conscious readers who may have been previously hesitant about the price point.

Amazon has yet to officially confirm these rumors, so take them with a grain of salt. However, if the leaks prove true, the new entry-level Kindle could be a welcome addition to the e-reader market, offering a compelling option for those seeking a simple and affordable way to enjoy the joy of reading.
