iPhone Photos Using Space Even After Deleting Them?

Many iPhone users have experienced the annoying phenomenon of running out of storage space on their device. This often happens because they take a lot of photos and videos, which can take up a considerable amount of space on their phone. However, it can be even more frustrating to find out that your iPhone photos are still using space even after you have deleted them.

The reason why iPhone photos continue to use space even after they have been deleted is that they are not completely removed from the device. When you delete a photo or video from your iPhone, it is moved to a separate folder called the Recently Deleted album. This album stores all the deleted photos and videos for a period of 30 days before they are permanently removed from the device.

While this feature is convenient for those who accidentally delete a photo, it also means that the photos are not completely removed from the device until they are permanently deleted from the Recently Deleted album. This means that if you have recently deleted a large number of photos or videos, you may still be using a significant amount of storage space on your iPhone.

To free up space on your iPhone, you can delete photos from the Recently Deleted album manually. To do this, go to the Photos app and select the Recently Deleted album. From there, you can choose to delete individual photos or videos, or you can select the Delete All option to remove all the items in the album.

Another way to save space on your iPhone is to use the Optimize iPhone Storage option under the Photos settings. This allows your iPhone to automatically upload all your photos and videos to iCloud and keep only optimized versions on your device. This can significantly reduce the amount of storage space used by your photos and videos.
