Wrapped hair is not only stylish but also functional, as it protects your strands from damage and allows you to maintain a sleek, frizz-free appearance. Whether you’re new to hair wrapping or looking for a refresher, this article will guide you through 14 simple steps to achieve the perfect wrap. Let’s begin!

1. **Gather materials**: You’ll need a wide-toothed comb, fine-toothed comb, hair clips, a smoothing brush or boar-bristle brush, hairbands or cloth ties, and a satin or silk scarf or cap.

2. **Wash and condition your hair**: Cleanse your hair with your preferred shampoo and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner to prevent breakage while wrapping. Rinse thoroughly before towel drying gently.

3. **Apply leave-in conditioner**: To further protect your hair from breakage and damage during the wrapping process, apply a leave-in conditioner evenly throughout your hair.

4. **Detangle**: Gently detangle your wet or damp hair, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots with the wide-toothed comb.

5. **Allow to air dry or blow-dry**: Depending on your preference and how much time you have, let your hair air-dry naturally or use a blow-dryer on low heat with a diffuser attachment.

6. **Section the hair**: Divide your dry or partially dry hair into manageable sections using clips.

7. **Flat wrap**: If you want a sleeker look, flat wrap each section of hair by combing it tightly against your head using the fine-toothed comb. Move in a circular motion around your head and hold in place with cloth ties or headbands.

8. **Secure with clips**: As you wrap each section around your head, secure it in place with clips so it stays put while moving on to the next area.

9. **Smooth the wrap**: Use a smoothing brush or boar-bristle brush to blend the wrapped sections and ensure your hair is lying flat against your head.

10. **Prepare the scarf**: Fold a satin or silk scarf into a triangle or wide band, ideally about four to six inches in width.

11. **Position the scarf**: Place the point of the triangle at the nape of your neck while holding the two ends in each hand.

12. **Wrap and tie**: Firmly but gently, bring the scarf’s ends towards your forehead and cross them over each other, creating a snug hold. Then, twist both ends back towards the nape of your neck and secure with a knot or tuck under the scarf’s edge.

13. **Tuck loose hair**: Tuck any loose strands under the scarf, ensuring all hair is neatly contained within the wrap.

14. **Sleep or style**: Depending on your reason for wrapping (overnight protection or daytime style), either head to bed knowing your hair is protected, or enjoy your new chic look throughout the day!

In conclusion, wrapping your hair can be an effective way to manage and protect it while rocking a classy appearance. Following these 14 steps will help you confidently wrap your hair like a pro!
