Waxing ear hairs is a safe and effective method for removing unwanted hair from the outer areas of your ears. By following these 14 steps, you’ll be able to safely and efficiently wax your ear hairs.

1. Gather supplies: You’ll need a waxing kit, which typically includes wax strips, a pre-wax oil for soothing the skin, and a post-wax lotion to calm irritation.

2. Clean the ears: Make sure your ears are clean and free from any oils or debris. Gently wash the outer area with a gentle soap and warm water.

3. Apply pre-wax oil: This helps prevent skin irritation and ensures that the wax adheres only to the hair, not the skin.

4. Test the temperature of the wax: Before applying wax to your ear hairs, check its temperature on the inside of your wrist to avoid burning yourself.

5. Cut wax strips to size: Using scissors, trim the wax strips to an appropriate size for your ear hairs.

6. Apply wax: Coat a small applicator with warmed wax, then carefully apply it to the outer part of your ear where hair is present. Spread it evenly in the direction of hair growth.

7. Press down on the wax strip: Firmly press down on the wax strip in the direction of hair growth while avoiding pressing on sensitive areas like eardrum.

8. Hold skin taut: With one hand, hold your earlobe or edge of the ear in order to keep the skin taut while you prepare to pull off the strip.

9. Remove strip quickly: Swiftly pull off the strip in one quick motion parallel to your skin—not upward—to minimize discomfort and get more efficient results.

10. Repeat if necessary: If there are still some stubborn hairs left behind or along different parts of your ear’s perimeter, repeat steps 6-9.

11. Clean up stray wax residue: Gently remove any leftover wax using a clean cloth soaked in warm water or a wax-removing product provided in the kit. Avoid putting any liquid inside the ear canal.

12. Apply post-wax lotion: This soothing lotion will help alleviate irritation and redness that may occur after waxing your ear hairs.

13. Assess your results: Inspect your ears to ensure all desired hairs have been removed. If necessary, you can use tweezers to remove any remaining individual hairs.

14. Maintain results: Waxing typically lasts about 4-6 weeks, so schedule regular waxing appointments or perform these steps whenever you notice new hair growth.

By following this step-by-step guide, you can successfully wax your ear hairs safely and effectively while minimizing irritation and discomfort.
