Have you ever lost or broken the remote to your Vizio Smart TV but still wanted to use it? Don’t worry, there are a few options for you to continue using your TV without a remote.

Option 1: Use the Vizio SmartCast Mobile App

One way to control your Vizio Smart TV without a remote is by downloading the Vizio SmartCast Mobile App. This app allows you to control your TV through your mobile device by connecting to the same Wi-Fi as your TV. You can use the app to change channels, adjust the volume, and even search for content.

To download the app, go to the App Store or Google Play Store and search for “Vizio SmartCast Mobile App.” Once downloaded, open the app and follow the instructions to connect to your TV.

Option 2: Use a Universal Remote Control

Another option is to use a universal remote control. These remotes can be programmed to work with your Vizio Smart TV along with other electronic devices in your home. You can purchase a universal remote at most electronics stores or online retailers.

To program the universal remote, follow the instructions that come with the remote or look up the code for Vizio Smart TV online. You may have to try a few codes before finding one that works.

Option 3: Use Your Voice

If your Vizio Smart TV is equipped with voice control, you can use your voice to control it without a remote. The voice control feature allows you to change channels, adjust the volume, and launch apps.

To use this feature, make sure your TV is connected to the internet and that the voice control is set up. To activate it, simply say “Hey Google” or “Hey Siri” followed by the command you want to give your TV.

Overall, losing or breaking your Vizio Smart TV remote doesn’t have to ruin your TV watching experience. With these options, you can still easily control your TV without a remote.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
