If you’re someone who frequently uses their iPhone or iPad on a cellular network or a limited data plan, you’ll want to conserve your data usage wherever possible. The good news is that Apple has a feature called the Low Data Mode, which allows you to limit data usage on a variety of apps and services on your device.

Here’s how to use low data mode on your iPhone or iPad:

1. Turn on Low Data Mode:

If you want to use Low Data Mode on your iPhone or iPad, you will need to enable it first. To do this, go to the Settings app, tap on “Cellular” or “Mobile Data,” and then toggle on the “Low Data Mode” switch to enable it.

2. Choose which apps to limit data usage:

Once you’ve turned Low Data Mode on, you can choose which apps and services to limit data usage on. In the same “Cellular” or “Mobile Data” menu, scroll down to the section that says “Use Cellular Data For,” and you’ll see a list of all the apps that use data. Toggle off any apps or services that you don’t need to use on cellular data or limit the data usage on selected apps.

3. Use Wi-Fi whenever possible:

To save data usage, try using Wi-Fi instead of your cellular network whenever possible. You can connect to Wi-Fi networks in various places, such as your home, office, or public spaces like coffee shops.

4. Disable Background App Refresh:

If you want to conserve even more data usage, you can disable Background App Refresh, which allows apps to refresh their content in the background even when you’re not using them actively. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and toggle off this feature.

5. Manage your iCloud settings:

If you use iCloud for backups, photos, and other data, you can modify the iCloud settings to limit data usage. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive, and then toggle off “Use Cellular Data.”

In conclusion, if you have a limited data plan or need to conserve data usage on your iPhone or iPad, the Low Data Mode feature is an excellent way to do so. Enabling this feature and managing your data usage on various apps and services can help you save money on your cellular data plan and avoid running out of data before the end of the month.
