How to Use Double Play on DirecTV

If you’re a DirecTV subscriber, you may have heard of the term “double play.” This offering essentially allows you to watch two different programs at the same time, using a split-screen feature to display both streams side by side on your TV. It’s a great way to catch up on multiple shows or sports events without having to constantly switch channels. Here’s how to use double play on DirecTV.

Set up your TV and DirecTV box: The first step is to ensure that your TV and DirecTV box are properly connected, turned on, and ready to go. Make sure your TV is set to the correct input or source for your DirecTV box, and that your box is tuned to the desired channel for one of the programs you want to watch.

Activate double play: To begin watching two programs at once, you’ll need to activate double play. This can be done either through your remote or the DirecTV app. If you’re using your remote, press the “down” arrow on the channel guide screen until you see the “double play” icon (which looks like two rectangles side by side). Select this option, and then choose the second program you want to watch from the guide.

If you’re using the DirecTV app, open the guide and select the first program you want to watch. Then, tap the “double play” icon at the bottom of the screen, and choose the second program you want to watch from the guide.

Watch both programs: Once you’ve activated double play and selected both programs, they will appear side by side on your TV screen. You can control the audio of each program independently, so you can listen to one program through your TV’s speakers and the other through headphones, for example. You can also switch the positions of the programs on the screen, or toggle back and forth between them using the “swap” button on the remote or app.

End double play: When you’re finished watching both programs, simply press the “exit” or “back” button on your remote or app to end double play.

In conclusion, double play is a convenient feature that allows you to watch two different programs simultaneously on your DirecTV service. By following these simple steps, you can set up and use double play to your heart’s content. Happy viewing!
