Amazon’s Fire TV Stick is a popular streaming device that provides access to a variety of content from streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more. To ensure a seamless viewing experience, it’s important to regularly update the software of your Fire TV Stick as well as any apps you’ve downloaded onto it. Here is a guide on how to update your Fire TV Stick software and apps.

How to Update Fire TV Stick Software

1. Connect your Fire TV Stick to your television and make sure that it is connected to the internet.

2. Go to the home screen and navigate to the “Settings” menu. You can find this at the top of the screen.

3. Scroll right and select “My Fire TV” or “Device” or “System” depending on your model.

4. Look for “About.”

5. In the “About” section, select “Check for System Update.” The Fire TV Stick will then check for any available updates.

6. If an update is available, you will see an “Install Update” or “Download and Install” option. Select this option to begin the update process.

7. The device may restart several times during the update process. Do not unplug the device while updating.

8. Once completed, the Fire TV Stick should restart one last time, and you’ll be running the latest version.

How to Update Apps on Fire TV Stick

1. Open your Fire TV interface and navigate to the “Apps” section on your home screen.

2. Move over the app you want to update; if there’s an update available, an option titled “Update Available” will appear below the app name.

3. Press on the app icon and select it which should give you another window with additional options.

4. Choose “More Info”, which might also be indicated by “Update”.

5. In this menu, you will see information about what’s new in this version and an “Update” button if an update is available.

6. Click on the “Update” button to install the latest version of the app.

7. If you want all your apps to be updated automatically in the future—Navigate back to “Settings,” then “Applications,” followed by “Appstore,” and then turn on “Automatic Updates.”

By following these steps, you can easily ensure that both your Amazon Fire TV stick software and all of your favorite apps stay up-to-date with new features and security improvements.
