Webroot is an antivirus and internet security software designed to protect your device from various online threats and malware. However, if you are experiencing issues with the program or want to try a different security solution, you may need to uninstall Webroot from your Mac or PC. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to uninstall Webroot from your device.

Uninstall Webroot from a Mac

1. Close Webroot: Ensure that the Webroot program is not running in the background before attempting to uninstall it.

2. Launch Finder: Click on the Finder icon in your Dock or press the Command + Spacebar key combination and search for “Finder.”

3. Find Webroot: Navigate to the “Applications” folder and look for the Webroot icon. Click and hold the icon, then drag it to the “Trash” bin.

4. Authenticate: If prompted, enter your Mac’s administrator password and click “OK” to confirm the deletion.

5. Remove leftovers: Some Webroot files may still remain on your device, and if you don’t remove them, they can interfere with other security software. Open the “Finder” menu, go to “Go,” and select “Go to Folder.” Enter “/Library” in the search box and press “Go.” Look for any Webroot-related files and delete them.

Uninstall Webroot from a PC

2. Open the Control Panel: Click on the “Start” button and search for “Control Panel.”

3. Choose “Programs and Features”: Find the “Programs and Features” option and click on it.

4. Locate Webroot: Look for the Webroot program in the list of installed programs, select it, and click “Uninstall.”

5. Confirm the deletion: Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the deletion and uninstall Webroot from your device.

6. Remove leftovers: Some Webroot files may still remain on your device, and if you don’t remove them, they can interfere with other security software. Press the “Windows + R” key combination, type “regedit,” and click “OK.” Navigate to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and search for any Webroot-related files and delete them.

Conclusion

Uninstalling Webroot may be necessary for various reasons, including upgrading to a different security solution or experiencing issues with the program. Regardless of your reason, you can follow the steps outlined above to uninstall Webroot from your Mac or PC successfully. Remember to also remove any leftover files associated with Webroot to prevent them from interfering with other programs on your device.
