How to Undo in Notes on iPhone

The Notes app on iPhone is a handy tool to jot down things quickly, save important details, and stay organized. However, sometimes we make mistakes and find ourselves wishing we could undo what we just did. Well, good news – you can easily undo in Notes on your iPhone. Here’s how:

1. Shake your iPhone

Yes, that’s right – shaking your iPhone can undo your last action in Notes. Simply give your iPhone a gentle shake, and a menu will pop up with options like Undo Typing, Redo Typing, and Cancel. Tap on Undo Typing, and your last action will be undone.
However, this method may not work for everyone, especially those with physical disabilities or injuries. In that case, try the other methods below.

2. Use the undo button

If shaking your iPhone doesn’t work for you, don’t worry. You can manually access the undo button by tapping on the screen with three fingers at once. This will bring up a menu with options like Cut, Copy, Paste, and Undo. Tap on Undo, and your last action will be undone.
If you want to redo your last action, simply tap on the screen with three fingers again and choose Redo. You can also tap and hold the undo or redo button to see a list of actions you can undo or redo.

3. Use the toolbar

Another way to undo in Notes on an iPhone is to use the toolbar. When you’re typing or editing a note, you’ll see a toolbar at the bottom of the screen with options like bold, italic, underline, and so on. To undo your last action, tap on the arrow pointing to the left (the Undo button) on the toolbar. To redo your last action, tap on the arrow pointing to the right (the Redo button) on the toolbar.

4. Use the keyboard

If you prefer using the keyboard, you can also undo in Notes by using the keyboard shortcut. To undo your last action, simply press and hold the “backspace” or “delete” key on your iPhone keyboard. Alternatively, you can also press the “Command” and “Z” keys at the same time to undo.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
