How to Turn Up Apple Watch Brightness

If you’re struggling to see the information on your Apple Watch because the brightness is too low, or you just want to ensure your watch face is easily visible in bright sunlight, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to increase the brightness level.
Step 1: Wake Your Apple Watch
Tap the screen or raise your wrist to wake your Apple Watch. If it’s on silent mode, you will need to tap the screen as raising your wrist won’t wake it.
Step 2: Access Settings
Once your Apple Watch screen is awake, press the Digital Crown (the round button) on the side of your watch to bring up the home screen. Then find and tap on the gear icon to open the Settings app.
Step 3: Adjust Brightness
Scroll down by swiping up on the screen or turning the Digital Crown until you find the “Display & Brightness” menu option. Tap it. Here you will see a brightness setting with a sun icon.
Step 4: Set Your Preferred Brightness
You will see three sliders that represent different brightness levels. Tap on one of these sliders to adjust to your desired brightness. The far-left slider is for low brightness, the middle for medium, and the far right for high brightness. By tapping one of these icons, your watch’s brightness will adjust automatically.
Alternative Method: Use The Apple Watch App
If for some reason you’re unable to adjust the brightness directly from your watch, you can use the Watch app on your paired iPhone. Open the Watch app, then tap ‘My Watch’ tab at the bottom of the screen if it’s not already selected. From there, you can go into “Display & Brightness” and adjust using the same method described above.
Step 5: Exit Settings
Once you are satisfied with the new brightness level of your watch, press the Digital Crown again to exit out of settings or simply let your watch face go dim as usual.
In just a few taps, you can ensure that your Apple Watch display is perfectly visible regardless of where you are or what lighting conditions you’re in. Remember that increasing the brightness level could reduce battery life somewhat so adjust it according to both visibility needs and battery conservation as required.
