One of the most useful features of modern technology is the ability for apps to run in the background, even when you’re not actively using them. This feature, known as Background App Refresh, allows apps to update their content, download data, and perform other tasks without requiring you to open the app. However, this feature can also drain your iPad’s battery life and use up your data plan. In this article, we’ll show you how to turn on or off Background

App Refresh on your iPad.

How to Turn On Background App Refresh

To turn on Background App Refresh, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.

2. Tap on General.

3. Scroll down and tap on Background App Refresh.

4. Toggle the switch to the right of Background App Refresh to the On position.

Once you’ve turned on Background App Refresh, your apps will be able to update their content in the background. This can be useful for apps like social media, email, and news apps, which need to stay up-to-date with the latest information.

How to Turn Off Background App Refresh

If you’re concerned about your iPad’s battery life or data usage, you may want to turn off Background App Refresh. Here’s how:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.

2. Tap on General.

3. Scroll down and tap on Background App Refresh.

4. Toggle the switch to the right of Background App Refresh to the Off position.

When Background App Refresh is turned off, your apps will only update when you open them. This can help to conserve your iPad’s battery life and reduce your data usage.

Conclusion

Background App Refresh can be a useful feature, but it’s not always necessary. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily turn on or off Background App Refresh on your iPad. Whether you want to conserve your battery life or reduce your data usage, this feature gives you more control over how your apps operate in the background.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
