The Oculus Quest and Quest 2 are great all-in-one virtual reality headsets, allowing you to immerse yourself in various games, apps and experiences. The controller is an integral part of the VR experience, and the Quest and Quest 2 come with easy-to-use controllers that are lightweight, with ergonomic grips and responsive buttons.

However, there may be times when you need to turn off the controllers. Maybe you’re taking a break from VR, or you need to conserve battery life. Here’s how to turn off Meta (Oculus) Quest or Quest 2 controllers:

Method 1: Automatic Shut-Off

The easiest way to turn off your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 controllers is to let them automatically shut off. The controllers are designed to conserve battery life, and they will turn off automatically when they are not in use.

If you’re not sure whether the controllers have shut off automatically, you can check the status of the controllers by looking at the LEDs on the top of the controllers. If they are not lit up, then they are not turned on.

Method 2: Manual Shut-Off

If you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can turn off the controllers manually. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: Press and hold the Oculus button on one of the controllers.

Step 2: A menu will appear in your field of view.

Step 3: Select ‘Power Off’ and press the A button to confirm.

Step 4: The controller will shut off.

Step 5: If you have another controller that needs to be turned off, repeat the same process.

Method 3: Use the Oculus Companion App

If you have the Oculus Companion App installed on your phone, you can use it to turn off your Meta (Oculus) Quest or Quest 2 controllers.

Step 1: Open the Oculus Companion App on your phone.

Step 2: Tap on the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Select the controller you want to turn off.

Step 4: Tap on the battery icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 5: Select “Disconnect” and your controller will turn off.

Conclusion

In conclusion, turning off your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 controllers is pretty simple. You can either let the controllers turn off automatically, turn them off manually, or use the Oculus Companion App to turn them off. Now you can take a break, conserve battery life, or safely store your VR headset and controllers without worrying about the batteries draining.
