How to Switch Monitors 1 and 2 on a PC

Switching the positions of monitors 1 and 2 on a PC is a common task for people who use multiple displays. This can be useful when you want to change the primary monitor or organize your desktop efficiently. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to switch monitors 1 and 2 on a PC.
**Step 1: Access Display Settings**
1. Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
2. Select “Display settings” from the context menu. This will open the Display settings window.
**Step 2: Identify and Reorder Displays**
1. In the Display settings window, scroll down if necessary and locate the “Rearrange your displays” section.
2. Here, you will see rectangular boxes representing your connected monitors with numbers inside them (for example, monitor [1] and monitor [2]).
3. To identify which screen is which, click on the “Identify” button located below these boxes. The corresponding monitor number will briefly appear on each screen.
4. Click and drag the monitor icons to rearrange them in your desired order.
**Step 3: Apply Changes**
1. After reordering the monitor icons, click on the “Apply” button located at the bottom right corner of the Display settings window.
2. A confirmation prompt will appear, asking if you want to keep these display changes or revert to previous settings.
3. If you are happy with the new arrangement, click on “Keep changes”. Otherwise, click on “Revert” or wait for 15 seconds; the system will automatically revert to previous settings if no action is taken within this time.
**Optional Step: Set Primary Monitor**
If you would like to set one of your screens as the primary monitor (where your Start menu and taskbar resides), follow these steps:
1. In the Display settings window, click on the monitor icon you want to set as the primary display.
2. Scroll down to the “Multiple displays” section.
3. Check the box that says: “Make this my main display”.
4. Click on the “Apply” button and confirm changes as shown in Step 3.
Now that you’ve successfully switched monitors 1 and 2 on your PC, you can enjoy a more organized desktop and customize your monitor positions according to your preferences. Keep in mind that these steps may slightly differ based on your PC’s operating system, but the general process remains similar.
