Discord’s ‘Go Live’ option is a great way to stream your gameplay or other activities to your friends or community. It’s easy to set up and use, and you can even invite others to join you in the stream. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to stream with Discord’s ‘Go Live’ option.

Step 1: Check your Discord settings

Before you start streaming, make sure your Discord settings are set up correctly. Go to your Discord user settings (the gear icon next to your username), and click on ‘Voice & Video’. Make sure your input and output devices are set up correctly, and that your mic is working properly.

Step 2: Start a voice channel

To start a stream, you’ll need to be in a voice channel. If you’re not already in one, create a new voice channel or join an existing one.

Step 3: Click on ‘Go Live’

Once you’re in a voice channel, click on the ‘Go Live’ button at the bottom of the screen. Discord will ask you to choose an application to stream. Select the application you want to stream, such as a game or a browser window.

Step 4: Choose your settings

After you’ve selected the application to stream, you can choose your stream settings. You can choose whether to include your voice and video in the stream, and whether to invite others to join you in the stream.

Step 5: Start streaming

Once you’ve chosen your settings, click on ‘Go Live’ to start streaming. Your friends or community members will receive a notification that you’re streaming, and they can join the stream by clicking on the ‘Watch Stream’ button.

Step 6: End the stream

When you’re done streaming, click on the ‘Stop Streaming’ button to end the stream. You can also end the stream by leaving the voice channel.

That’s it! Streaming with Discord’s ‘Go Live’ option is simple and easy. With just a few clicks, you can share your gameplay or other activities with your friends or community.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
