The Windows 10 System Tray is a convenient area in the bottom-right corner of the desktop screen that displays icons for various system and application processes. These icons provide quick access to important features, such as volume control, network status, and battery life. However, sometimes the system tray can become cluttered with too many icons, making it difficult to find the one you need. In this article, we’ll discuss how to show or hide icons in the Windows 10 System Tray.

Showing Icons in the System Tray

To show an icon in the System Tray, simply follow these steps:

1. Right-click the Taskbar.

2. Select Taskbar Settings.

3. Click on the Select Which Icons Appear on the Taskbar option.

4. Toggle the switch beside the desired icon to On.

That’s it! The icon will now appear in the System Tray.

Hiding Icons in the System Tray

To hide an icon in the System Tray, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the Taskbar.

2. Select Taskbar Settings.

3. Click on the Select Which Icons Appear on the Taskbar option.

4. Toggle the switch beside the desired icon to Off.

The icon will now be hidden from the System Tray. If you want to see the hidden icon again, click on the Show Hidden Icons arrow in the System Tray.

Customizing the System Tray

Windows 10 also allows you to customize the way the System Tray icons are displayed. If you want to change the behavior of the System Tray, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the Taskbar.

2. Select Taskbar Settings.

3. Scroll down to the Notification Area section.

4. From here, you can choose to:

– Turn on or off the system icons (such as clock and volume control).

– Choose which apps can show notifications in the System Tray.

– Customize how notifications are displayed in the System Tray.

Conclusion

The Windows 10 System Tray is an essential tool for accessing important features and keeping track of system processes. By knowing how to show or hide icons in the System Tray, you can keep your desktop organized and free of clutter. So, take a few moments to customize your System Tray and make it work for you!
