If you own both a Chromebook and an Android device, you may want to share Wi-Fi between the two devices to save on data costs and to have an uninterrupted internet connection. Fortunately, this is a straightforward process that can be done in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Turn on Wi-Fi hotspot on your Android device

On your Android device, go to Settings and select Network & internet. Then, select Hotspot & tethering and turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot toggle. You can also set a password if you want to secure your hotspot.

Step 2: Connect your Chromebook to the Wi-Fi hotspot

On your Chromebook, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Then, select the name of your Android device’s Wi-Fi hotspot from the list of available networks. Enter the password if you set one up in Step 1.

Step 3: Enjoy your shared Wi-Fi connection

Once your Chromebook is connected to your Android device’s Wi-Fi hotspot, you can use the internet on your Chromebook as usual. Your Android device will act as a router, providing internet access to your Chromebook.

Additional tips

1. Keep in mind that sharing Wi-Fi between devices can use up a lot of data, so make sure you have an unlimited data plan or monitor your usage closely.

2. If you’re having trouble connecting your Chromebook to your Android device’s Wi-Fi hotspot, try restarting both devices and trying again.

3. You can also use a USB cable to connect your Android device to your Chromebook and share internet that way. Simply connect your Android device to your Chromebook via USB and turn on USB tethering in your Android device’s hotspot settings.

In conclusion, sharing Wi-Fi between your Chromebook and Android device is a simple process that can save you on data costs and provide you with an uninterrupted internet connection. Just follow the steps outlined above and enjoy your shared Wi-Fi connection!
