How to Send a Video Through Email

Nowadays, videos have become an important tool for communication. They allow people to share experiences, memories and moments with their loved ones or colleagues. However, sending a video through email can be a rather daunting task for some people. They may be anxious about the file size or quality of the video. This article will guide you through the steps on how to send a video through email, ensuring that your video arrives at its destination safely and with the best possible quality.

Step 1: Compress the Video File

The first step in successfully sending a video through email is to reduce the size of the video file. Large video files may take a long time to upload or send, making the process slow and inefficient. Compressing the video file will reduce its size and make it easier to send via email. There are many free online tools available that will help you compress your video file. One of the most popular ones is Handbrake, this software can be used to reduce the file size of your video without sacrificing quality. To compress your video using Handbrake, simply open the program, add your video file, and select a compressed output format such as MP4 or AVI.

Step 2: Choose the Right Email Service Provider

The next step is to choose the right email service provider. Not all email service providers allow you to send large files, so it’s important to choose an email service provider that has a large file attachment limit. Gmail, for example, allows you to attach up to 25MB of files with a single email, whereas Yahoo Mail has a limit of only 20MB. If your video file is larger than your email service provider’s attachment limit, you will need to use a file-sharing service such as Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer.

Step 3: Attach the Compressed Video File

Once you have chosen the right email service provider and compressed the video file, the next step is to attach the video file to your email. Most email service providers allow you to attach files by clicking on the paperclip icon or selecting the attachment option. Simply locate the compressed video file on your computer, select it and attach it to your email.

Step 4: Provide a Video Description or Caption

It’s always a good idea to provide a description or caption for your video. This will help the recipient know what the video is about and whether to watch it or not. A short and concise description or caption of the video can be included in the email body or in the subject line of your email.

Step 5: Check the Quality and Size of the Video

Before hitting the send button, it’s important to check the quality and size of the video. You can use a video previewing software to ensure that the video quality is high and that it plays smoothly. If you notice any issues with the video, you may need to go back and compress the video again, or use a different email service provider that supports larger attachments.

In conclusion, sending a video through email is easy if you follow the steps outlined above. By compressing your video file, choosing the right email service provider, attaching the video file to your email, providing a video description or caption, and checking the quality and size of the video, you will be able to successfully send your video to its intended recipient.
