Introduction:

When crunching numbers with the iPhone calculator, you may sometimes find it helpful to look back at your previous calculations. Whether for checking your work, sharing with others, or just maintaining a record of what you’ve done, viewing your calculator history can be a useful capability. In this article, we will explore how to access your iPhone calculator’s history.

Step 1: Accessing the Calculator App

To begin, open the Calculator app on your iPhone. If you can’t find it on your home screen or within your folders, use Spotlight Search by swiping down on the middle of the screen and typing “Calculator” in the search bar.

Step 2: Perform Calculations

Use the Calculator app as you normally would by entering numbers and operations. The app will store each completed calculation in its history.

Step 3: Accessing the Calculator History (Native App)

The native iPhone Calculator app does not provide an explicit “history” button. However, you can see your most recent calculation by swiping down from the top of the screen. When Notification Center appears, scroll down to find a widget called “Calculator.” This widget will display your last completed calculation.

Note: For more detailed history and additional features, consider downloading third-party calculator apps that offer built-in history functions, as described below.

Step 4: Third-Party Calculator Apps with History Functions

There are various alternatives to Apple’s built-in calculator that include a dedicated history feature. Some popular options are:

1. The Calculator by Impala Studios

2. Calcbot 2 by Tapbots

3. Calzy 3 by WapleStuff

4. PCalc Lite by TLA Systems Ltd.

Download one or more of these apps from the App Store and test them to find which best meets your needs for calculation history and other functions.

Step 5: Accessing History in a Third-Party Calculator App

Once you have chosen and installed a third-party calculator app, open it and perform calculations as desired. To access your calculator history, look for a dedicated button or section labeled “History” or similar within the app’s interface. Tap it to reveal a list of your previous calculations.

Conclusion:

Accessing calculator history on the iPhone may not be possible using the native Calculator app beyond the most recent calculation. However, several third-party apps offer built-in history functions with easy-to-use interfaces to serve your needs. Exploring these alternatives can greatly improve your calculating experience and make it easier to review and share your calculation history as needed.
