Rooting your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 can unlock a world of possibilities by giving you full control over the device’s software. This step-by-step guide will help you safely root your tablet, allowing you to install custom ROMs, enable apps that require root access, and improve performance by removing preinstalled apps.

Before we begin, note that rooting your device carries a certain level of risk, including potentially voiding the warranty or permanently damaging your tablet. Proceed at your own risk.

Prerequisites:

1. Backup your data: Ensure all important data is backed up before proceeding, as rooting may erase your device’s content.

2. Charge your tablet: Charge your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 to at least 70% to avoid any disruptions during the rooting process.

3. Install necessary drivers: Download and install Samsung USB drivers on your computer to establish a connection with the tablet.

4. Enable USB debugging: Go to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Download Rooting Software: Download a reliable rooting program like Odin or KingoRoot onto your computer.

2. Boot into Download Mode:

a. Switch off your Galaxy Tab 3.

b. Press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously.

c. As soon as the Samsung logo appears, release all buttons.

d. Press Volume Up button when prompted to enter Download Mode.

3. Connect Tablet to Computer: Using a USB cable, connect your tablet to the computer where you downloaded the rooting software.

4. Launch Rooting Software:

a. For Odin: Open Odin and click on ‘AP’ or ‘PDA.’ Locate and select the extracted CF-Auto-Root file compatible with your Galaxy Tab 3 model number.

b. For KingoRoot: Start KingoRoot and wait until it detects your connected device.

5. Begin Rooting Process:

a. For Odin: Click ‘Start’ to initiate the rooting process. Do not disconnect your tablet or turn off your computer during this stage.

b. For KingoRoot: Click on ‘Root’ to start the process.

6. Monitor the Progress: The software will display the progress and notify you once rooting is complete.

7. Confirm Root Access: Install a root checker app on your tablet to ensure that the device was rooted successfully.

8. Reboot Your Tablet: After confirming root access, restart your Galaxy Tab 3 to finalize the process.

Congratulations! You have now successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Enjoy your new, fully customizable tablet experience and explore the limitless possibilities that come with root access. Remember to always exercise caution when installing apps or ROMs that require root access, as they may harm your device if not properly vetted.
