Wattpad is a popular online platform that allows writers to share their stories with millions of readers across the globe. With an ever-growing community of authors and enthusiasts, Wattpad has become a go-to source for countless genres of fiction and non-fiction stories. If you’re a writer looking to post your work on the platform, this article will guide you through the necessary steps on how to post stories on Wattpad.

1.Sign up for a Wattpad account

Before you can post a story, you need to create an account on Wattpad. Visit www.wattpad.com and click on “Start Reading or Start Writing”. You can either sign up using your email address or log in with your Facebook or Google account. Once you have signed up, make sure to complete your profile by adding essential details like a username, bio, profile photo, and social media links.

2.Create your story

After completing your profile setup, click on the “Create” option available at the top menu bar. This will lead you to the story creation interface. Start by entering your story’s title along with other necessary details such as description, cover image, category (fiction or non-fiction), subcategory (ex: romance, science-fiction), and tags (keywords related to your story). The tags are essential for increasing visibility in relevant searches.

3.Write or upload your content

Now it’s time to write or upload your content. You can either type out your story directly into the provided text box editor or upload an existing document file from your device by clicking “Upload File”. Please note that the uploaded file should be in .txt format.

Don’t forget to separate chapters into different parts when writing long stories. Each part can have its title combined with separator lines and white spaces for easy readability.

4.Save and publish your story

Once you have finished writing or uploading the content, click on “Save” to store your work, and to make your story go live on the platform, simply click “Publish.” Your story will then be available to Wattpad users around the world.

5.Edit or manage your story (Optional)

If at any point you want to edit, update or unpublish your story, you can do so by clicking on “Manage Stories” from the dropdown menu under your profile photo and selecting the specific story you want to modify. From there, you can add new parts, edit existing content, reorganize chapters and change other details such as cover image, description or tags.

Now that you know how to post stories on Wattpad, it’s time to share your creative talent with the world! Good luck with your writing journey on one of the largest online platforms for budding authors.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
