Trivial Pursuit is a classic board game that tests your knowledge across various categories, including History, Art & Literature, Geography, Entertainment, Science & Nature, and Sports & Leisure. If you’re eager to start playing or need a refresher on the rules, follow these 11 steps to learn how to play Trivial Pursuit.

1. Gather your players: Typically, Trivial Pursuit can be played by 2-6 players. You can also form teams if you have more than six people.

2. Set up the game board: Lay out the Trivial Pursuit board on a flat surface. Ensure that all players can easily view the board and reach the game pieces.

3. Choose your game piece: Each player selects a round token, often referred to as a “pie.” The pie has six slots for wedges that will be collected throughout the game.

4. Shuffle the question cards: Shuffle each deck of cards separately for each category. Place them in their respective card holders on the game board.

5. Roll the dice and determine the first player: Each player rolls the die, with the highest roller going first. Play then proceeds clockwise.

6. Roll and move: On each turn, roll the die and move that number of spaces in any direction on the board.

7. Land on a colored space: When you land on a colored space on the board, another player will draw a card from that color’s category and ask you a question from it.

8. Answer questions correctly: If you answer correctly, continue with another turn by rolling again and moving your piece according to your roll’s outcome.

9. Collect wedges for correct answers in “headquarters” spaces: If you land on one of the six headquarters spaces (the larger spaces with category icons) and correctly answer a question from that category’s deck, you’ll earn a wedge of the matching color to put in your pie.

10. Earn all six wedges: The objective of the game is to collect all six wedges by correctly answering questions from each category’s headquarters space.

11. Reach the center of the board: Once you have collected all six wedges, navigate towards the center of the board. Answer a question selected by your opponents from the category of their choice. If you answer correctly, you win the game!

Now that you know how to play Trivial Pursuit in 11 easy steps, gather some friends, test your knowledge, and enjoy this classic and entertaining board game!
