Exploding Kittens is a highly entertaining and strategic card game that combines elements of chance and tactics. Created by Elan Lee, Matthew Inman, and Shane Small, the game has garnered a massive following due to its quirky artwork and hilarious gameplay. In this article, we will guide you through 10 steps on how to play Exploding Kittens.

.Understand the objective: The main goal of Exploding Kittens is to avoid drawing an “Exploding Kitten” card from the deck. If you draw this card and have no way to defuse it, you are eliminated from the game. The last player remaining wins.

.Gather your players: Exploding Kittens can be played with 2-5 players (up to 9 with expansion packs). Each player will take turns drawing cards in hopes of avoiding an Exploding Kitten.

.Prepare the deck: Remove all “Defuse” and “Exploding Kitten” cards from the deck. Shuffle the remaining cards and deal four cards face down to each player. Then, give one “Defuse” card to each player – resulting in a five-card starting hand.

.Add Exploding Kittens: Add one less “Exploding Kitten” card than the number of players into the deck (e.g., for a four-player game, add three Exploding Kittens).

.Insert the Defuse cards: Put any leftover “Defuse” cards back in the deck.

.Shuffle and start drawing: Mix the deck well, place it in the middle of the table, then designate a starting player. That person must draw a card from the top of the pile without looking at it beforehand.

.Learn your cards: Players should familiarize themselves with different action cards like Attack, Skip, Favor, See The Future, Shuffle, Nope, etc. Each action card has a unique effect and can be used strategically throughout the game.

.Use your cards: During gameplay, players can choose to play action cards from their hand, affecting themselves, other players, or the deck itself. There is no limit to the number of cards you can play during your turn. After playing action cards, the turn ends by drawing a card from the deck.

.Encounter an Exploding Kitten: If you draw an “Exploding Kitten” card from the deck, you are out – unless you have a “Defuse” card in your hand. Play the “Defuse” card immediately to save yourself and place the “Exploding Kitten” back in the deck face down, secretly choosing where it goes.

.Become the ultimate survivor: The game continues with players taking turns and playing action cards until only one player remains – this lucky individual is declared the winner!

By mastering these 10 steps, you’ll become an expert in Exploding Kittens and be well-equipped to entertain your friends and family with this hilarious and captivating card game. Enjoy hours of laughter as you strategize and outwit your opponents in a feline frenzy!
