Discord, initially popular as a communication platform for gamers, has evolved to include a variety of fun activities that can strengthen community engagement. Among these are Discord activities, which are games that you can play directly in your server’s voice channels. If you’re scratching your head about how to play these games, fret not! This article will guide you through the simple steps to turn your Discord into an entertainment hub.

To start playing games using Discord Activities, follow these steps:

1. Open Discord: Make sure you’re logged into your account on either the desktop app, browser application, or mobile version.

2. Choose a Server: You can only play Discord Activities on a server where you have the necessary permissions (usually ‘Manage Channels’ or ‘Create Instant Invite’). If you don’t have permission, consider asking an admin or joining a server that allows you access.

3. Start a Voice Channel: Navigate to the voice channel where you wish to play games with other members.

4. Activate the ‘Activities’ Feature: Look for the rocket icon that may appear near the bottom of your screen (this can vary depending on updates and UI changes) once you’re connected to the voice channel. Clicking on this icon will open up a list of available Discord Activities.

5. Select Your Game: Discord offers an array of games including Poker Night, Chess in the Park, Checkers in the Park, and many more. Choose one by clicking on it.

6. Invite Participants: After selecting a game, an invitation link will be generated. Share this link with friends or server members you want to join in on the fun.

7. Wait for Players to Join: Interested players can click on your link to be added to the game.

8. Start the Game: Once everyone is ready, begin your game! Different activities will have different user interfaces and controls – some might start automatically while others may require ready-confirmation from each player.

9. Enjoy and Play Fairly: Have fun with the activity while respecting other players and adhering to any rules set out by either Discord or community guidelines of your server.

Discord periodically updates its selection of activities and user experience, so stay tuned for new games and improved functionality! Remember that some activities may come and go as they’re often released for special occasions or for limited time periods.

With these steps in mind, you’re well-equipped to engage with Discord Activities. Whether it’s for bonding with online friends or just killing some time solo with engaging mini-games, Discord has made sure there’s something for everyone right at their fingertips!
