How to Play Among Us
Among Us is a popular online multiplayer game that has taken the gaming world by storm. The game is heavily based on teamwork, strategy, and deception, making it an exciting experience for players of all ages. In this article, we will guide you through the basics of how to play Among Us.
1. Getting Started
To begin playing Among Us, you’ll need to download it from your device’s app store or Steam. Once installed, open the game and create a username.
2. Joining a Game
You can join an existing game or create your own. To join, simply click on “Find Game” and select a game from the list that appears. To create your own game, click “Host” and customize the settings according to your preferences.
3. Understanding the Roles (Crewmate vs. Imposter)
In Among Us, players are divided into two roles: Crewmates and Imposters. The majority of the players will be Crewmates, while a few will be Imposters.
Crewmates: As a Crewmate, your main goal is to complete tasks around the map while trying to identify the Imposters in order to vote them out of the game.
Imposters: As an Imposter, your goal is to eliminate Crewmates without getting caught, sabotage their tasks, and deceive them into voting each other out.
4. The Map
There are currently four maps in Among Us: Skeld, MIRA HQ, Polus Outpost, and Airship. Each map has its own layout with different rooms and tasks for Crewmates to complete. Familiarize yourself with the map layouts for better navigation during gameplay.
5. Completing Tasks
Crewmates are given a list of tasks that they must complete in order to win the game. Tasks are simple mini-games found throughout the map and typically involve tasks such as wiring, downloading data, or fixing appliances.
6. Meetings and Voting
Whenever a dead body is reported or a player calls an emergency meeting, all players will gather in the designated discussion area. This is where players exchange information, share suspicions, and ultimately vote out who they believe is the Imposter. Players must vote wisely; every wrong vote can bring the Imposters closer to victory.
7. Sabotage and Eliminations
As an Imposter, you can sabotage tasks by interacting with certain objects on the map (e.g., disabling lights or shutting doors). Sabotaging makes it harder for Crewmates to complete tasks, so use it strategically.
To eliminate a Crewmate, an Imposter simply needs to approach them and press the “Kill” button. Keep in mind that other players can witness this action, so time your eliminations carefully.
8. Winning the Game
There are multiple ways to win Among Us:
Crewmates: Complete all tasks or vote off all the Imposters successfully.
Imposters: Eliminate enough Crewmates so that their numbers are equal to the remaining Imposters’ or sabotage a critical system and prevent Crewmates from fixing it in time.
Now that you have a basic understanding of how to play Among Us, enjoy playing as both Crewmate and Imposter and improve your strategy and communication skills with every game. Good luck!
