Introduction

If you’ve recently upgraded to a new iPhone and no longer have your old one, you might be wondering how to pair your Apple Watch with your new device. Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up your Apple Watch with your new iPhone step-by-step.

1. Unpair Your Apple Watch

To start, you must first unpair your Apple Watch from your old iPhone. Since you no longer have your old iPhone, you can do this via iCloud:

a. Go to iCloud.com and sign in using your Apple ID credentials.

b. Click on “Find iPhone.”

c. Select “All Devices” and then choose your Apple Watch.

d. Click “Remove from Account” to unpair the Apple Watch from the old iPhone.

2. Prepare Your New iPhone

Before pairing the Apple Watch to your new iPhone, make sure the following conditions are met:

a. The new iPhone should be running the latest iOS version. To update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

b. Both the Apple Watch and the new iPhone must be connected to Wi-Fi.

c. Bluetooth should be enabled on both devices.

d. Make sure both devices are charged, at least 50%, and connected to their respective chargers.

3. Pair Your Apple Watch with Your New iPhone

Now that you have prepared your devices for pairing, follow these steps:

a. Place both devices in close proximity.

b. Switch on your Apple Watch by pressing and holding the side button until the Apple logo appears.

c. Open the ‘Apple Watch’ app on your new iPhone.

d. Choose ‘Start Pairing’ on both devices (Apple Watch and new iPhone).

e. Use your new iPhone’s camera to scan the pattern displayed on your Apple Watch’s screen. If unsuccessful, use the manual pairing option.

f. Once paired, sign in using your Apple ID and follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Apple Watch.

4. Restore Your Apple Watch from Backup

When prompted to set up as a new watch or restore from a backup, choose to restore from your most recent backup:

a. Choose the backup you’d like to restore from the list (note that you must be signed in with the same Apple ID you used for backing up).

b. Wait for the process to complete, which may take some time depending on the amount of data being restored.

5. Complete the Setup Process

After restoring your Apple Watch from a backup, follow these steps to complete the setup process:

a. Set up a passcode if desired.

b. Authorize (if necessary) permission settings for apps and services.

c. Complete any remaining setup prompts, such as configuring cellular settings (if applicable).

Conclusion

Congratulations! By following these steps, you have successfully paired your Apple Watch with your new iPhone (even without your old iPhone). Now you can resume using your watch and enjoy all of its features seamlessly with your new iPhone.
