1. Preheat the oven: Before you start preparing the bread, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure that the oven is ready to toast the bread evenly once it’s placed inside.

2. Choose your bread: Pick your favorite type of bread for toasting. It may be a slice of white, whole wheat, sourdough, or any other bread variety you prefer.

3. Prepare your workspace: Clear your kitchen counter and lay out a baking sheet or oven-safe tray. You will use this tray to place the bread on while it toasts in the oven.

4. Butter the bread (optional): If you’d like buttery toast, spread a thin layer of softened butter onto one side of each bread slice. You can also use margarine, olive oil, or any other spread of your choice.

5. Arrange the bread on the baking sheet: Place the slices of bread onto the baking sheet in a single layer, spacing them evenly apart. If you’ve spread butter on them, ensure that the buttered side faces up.

6. Place the baking sheet in the oven: Once the oven has reached 350°F (175°C), carefully slide the baking sheet with the bread onto a middle rack in the oven. Close the oven door gently so as not to disturb their position.

7. Set a timer: To avoid over-toasting, set a timer for about 4-6 minutes. It is crucial to monitor your toast as different ovens and types of bread may require slightly different cooking times.

8. Check for desired crispness: When your timer goes off, carefully open the oven door and use a spatula or tongs to lift up one edge of a piece of toast to inspect it for browning. If it isn’t yet toasted to your desired crispness, close the oven door and check again in 1-2 minutes.

9. Remove the toast from the oven: Once your toast reaches the desired level of brownness, put on oven mitts and carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Place it onto a heat-safe surface to cool down for a moment.

10. Serve: Using tongs or a spatula, transfer your freshly toasted bread onto a serving plate. Enjoy your toast with jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, or any topping you desire!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
