Introduction:

Ever look at your plain pair of shoes and wish they had some sparkle? With just a few simple supplies, you can transform any pair of shoes into dazzling, glittery eye-catchers! Follow these 14 steps to create your very own pair of glitter shoes.

1. Choose your shoes: Select a pair of shoes that you would like to add some sparkle to. Opt for a comfortable pair with a smooth surface for the best adhesion.

2. Gather your materials: You will need fine glitter, fabric glue or Mod Podge, a brush or sponge applicator, painter’s tape, newspaper or plastic sheet, and a clear acrylic sealer.

3. Protect your workspace: Lay down newspaper or a plastic sheet to catch any stray glitter and protect the area from spills.

4. Prep the shoes: Remove any laces, buckles, or removable parts from your shoes, and clean the surface with rubbing alcohol.

5. Tape off areas you don’t want glittered: Use painter’s tape to cover any parts of the shoe you’d like to keep glitter-free, such as the sole or specific design elements.

6. Mix glue and glitter: In a disposable container, mix equal parts of fine glitter and fabric glue or Mod Podge until it forms a smooth paste.

7. Apply first coat of glitter mixture: Using your brush or sponge applicator, evenly apply the first coat of the prepared mixture onto the shoe’s surface in a thin layer.

8. Let it dry: Allow the first coat to dry completely before moving on (drying time varies depending on glue used; consult product label for guidance).

9. Apply additional coats as needed: Depending on desired coverage and intensity of color, apply additional thin coats of the glitter mixture, allowing each coat to fully dry before adding another.

10. Remove excess and stray glitter: If there’s any stray glitter on the taped areas, carefully use a small brush to remove it.

11. Remove tape and clean up edges: Carefully remove the painter’s tape and clean up any edges with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.

12. Apply clear acrylic sealer: To protect your new glitter shoes and help prevent shedding, apply a clear acrylic sealer following the manufacturer’s instructions.

13. Allow sealer to dry: Give the sealer adequate drying time before wearing your new glitter shoes (refer to sealer instructions for drying time).

14. Reattach laces or other removable parts: Finally, reattach any removed parts such as laces or buckles to your shoes, and enjoy your fabulous, glittery footwear!

There you have it – 14 simple steps to create a stunning pair of glitter shoes that’ll add sparkle and pizzazz to any outfit. Have fun experimenting with different shades of glitter and shoe styles!
