Amazon’s Alexa is a virtual assistant that can perform a variety of tasks, including making phone calls. If you have an Echo device, you can use Alexa to make hands-free phone calls to anyone in your contacts list or to any phone number in the US, Canada, or Mexico.

Step 1: Set up your Echo device

The first step to making phone calls through your Echo device is to set it up. You will need to download the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet and connect your Echo device to your Wi-Fi network. Once your Echo device is connected, you can start using Alexa to make phone calls.

Step 2: Enable calling and messaging

To enable calling and messaging on your Echo device, open the Alexa app and tap on the Communicate tab. From there, you can enable calling and messaging and set up your contacts list.

Step 3: Add contacts

To add contacts to your Alexa contacts list, open the Alexa app and tap on the Communicate tab. From there, you can add contacts manually or import them from your smartphone’s contacts list.

Step 4: Make a phone call

To make a phone call using your Echo device, simply say “Alexa, call [contact name or phone number].” Alexa will then initiate the call and you can talk hands-free through your Echo device.

Step 5: End the call

To end the call, simply say “Alexa, hang up.” Alexa will then end the call.

Conclusion

Making phone calls through your Echo device using Amazon’s Alexa is a convenient and hands-free way to stay in touch with friends and family. By following these simple steps, you can make phone calls using your Echo device in no time.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
