Transparency means that there is no solid color, image or design behind the object. This will allow the object to be placed on any color or image backdrop.
Having a transparent background is useful for several reasons. One reason is to make a logo look clean against a different backdrop. Another reason is to use an object in different designs without struggling to blend its background with the new background.

Here are several different ways to make an image background transparent.

1. Using Online Tools or Software

Several online tools or software, such as Remove.bg or Adobe Photoshop, can be used to remove an image background. All you have to do is upload the image and then use the tool to remove or erase the existing background.

2. Use the Default Options of an Image Editor

Image editors like Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint come with default or built-in features that lets you make image backgrounds transparent. You can use the selection or magic wand tool to create a specific section or delete large areas of the background layer. Simply go to the layer palette, select the image layer, and right-click to choose “Layer from Background.” From there, choose the “Layer Mask” option and start painting on the mask using black or white paint. Black removes the background while white restores it.

3. Using MS PowerPoint

You may not know it, but MS PowerPoint can be used to make your image background transparent without needing any other software. All you have to do is insert the image on a PowerPoint slide, then click on the Format tab. Click on “Remove Background” and crop or remove the background. Click “Keep Changes” on the upper left of the ribbon interface and then right-click on the image and save it in a PNG format.

4. Hiring a Professional Designer

If you don’t have the time or the technical skills to make your image background transparent, it’s best to hire a professional designer. Professional designers are equipped with the necessary skills and software to make high-quality designs with transparent backgrounds.
