Step 1: Gather Your Materials

To create a flawless military bun, assemble all necessary supplies, including a brush, comb, hairbands, bobby pins, hairspray, and a hairnet.

Step 2: Start With Clean Hair

Wash and dry your hair thoroughly before styling. This will make it easier to manage and create a smoother appearance.

Step 3: Brush Your Hair

Brush your hair to remove any knots or tangles that may interfere with the styling process.

Step 4: Create a Ponytail

Gather all of your hair into a tight and high ponytail at the crown of your head. Secure it with a hairband to prevent any loose strands from falling out later.

Step 5: Apply Hairspray

Lightly spritz your ponytail with hairspray. This will provide extra hold and ensure that your military bun stays in place throughout the day.

Step 6: Twist Your Ponytail

Take your ponytail and twist it clockwise around its base. This will create the foundation for your bun.

Step 7: Wrap Your Hair Around the Base

Continue twisting your hair and wrapping it around the base of the ponytail. This should create a tight, secure bun.

Step 8: Secure With Bobby Pins

Use bobby pins to secure any loose strands of hair as you wrap them around the base of the bun.

Step 9: Use a Hairnet

Place a hairnet over the completed bun to help maintain its shape and ensure that no stray hairs escape.

Step 10: Apply More Hairspray

Spray another layer of hairspray over the completed military bun for extra hold and added security.

Step 11: Smooth Out Frizz

Using the fine-toothed comb, smooth down any frizz or flyaways along the sides of your head for a polished look.

Step 12: Double-Check Your Work

Take a few moments to inspect your military bun from all angles and ensure that it’s secure and symmetrical.

Step 13: Practice Makes Perfect

To achieve a flawless military bun, practice the technique regularly. Over time, it’ll become second nature, and you’ll be able to create the perfect military bun in no time!

Congratulations! You now know how to create an impeccable military bun in just 13 simple steps. This classic style is ideal for formal occasions, interviews, and those serving in the military. By following these guidelines, you’ll master the art of styling your hair into a military bun that remains secure and looking polished throughout the day.
