Step 1: Choose the Right Skylight

Step 2: Determine the Placement

Step 9: Create Interior Opening

Once your exterior work is complete, head inside your home and cut an opening in the ceiling directly below the newly installed skylight using a drywall saw or utility knife.

Step 10: Install Finish Trim & Light Shaft

Build a light shaft from the interior opening to the skylight using drywall or another suitable material. Apply tape and joint compound to seal all joints, followed by paint or other finishing materials of your choice. Lastly, attach any finishing trim required around the bottom edge of the light shaft.
